Fly Fishing Guide – Roaring Fork Valley, Colorado We are a new and upcoming fly fishing outfitter based in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley, focused on delivering high-quality, personalized guided experiences on some of the region’s most iconic waters. As a growing operation, we’re looking for motivated, professional guides who are excited to help shape the culture, standards, and future of an outfitter being built with intention from the ground up. Guides will lead wade and/or float trips and events, provide casting and fly fishing instruction, ensure client safety, and deliver an exceptional on-the-water experience. Ideal candidates are confident anglers with strong people skills, a professional demeanor, and a genuine passion for sharing fly fishing with others. Alongside regular guiding, we are committed to expanding access to fly fishing by supporting women and veterans entering the sport. We value inclusive, welcoming experiences and aim to create opportunities that build confidence, skill, and connection on the water for anglers of all backgrounds. As a newer outfitter, we value collaboration, adaptability, and clear communication. Guides who are dependable, enthusiastic, and interested in growing alongside the business will be given priority for repeat seasons and expanded opportunities as the outfitter continues to grow. The Beaverkill Angler of Roscoe, New York (Trout Town USA!) has positions open for retail sales help for this coming season. We are seeking one full-time person starting in late March/early April and running through October or later and one part-time person, starting in May and running through the season. For the right individual, there is the opportunity to grow into a full-time management position. There is also the potential for some guide work for qualified applicants. The Beaverkill Angler is the 2017 Orvis Authorized Retailer of the year and has served the area for nearly 50 years. We are the region’s largest fly shop and located in the heart of some of the best trout fishing in the Northeastern US. We are steps from the famed Beaverkill and Willowemoc Rivers, and a short strike to the East Branch, West Branch and Mainstem Delaware Rivers, the Neversink River, the Scoharie and Esopus Creek. Our bug hatches are unrivaled on the East Coast and the history of fly fishing in this area runs deep. You will have great fishing opportunities! We are looking for hard working, personable folks to work in a fast-paced, fun environment. Fly fishing and product knowledge is a must; fly tying and local knowledge, or the willingness to get up to speed quickly, is also very helpful. You must have basic computer literacy skills and be comfortable engaging customers with respect and cordiality. Day to day responsibilities for both positions include assisting customers with product and fly selection as well as offering fishing advice, helping coordinate guide trips, stocking and maintaining the sales floor, receiving inventory, processing shipments and returns, regular store cleaning, updating website and social media feeds including generating regular fishing reports, and assisting with basic instruction like introductory casting clinics, beginner fly tying and beginner fly fishing lessons. Qualified folks will have the opportunity to pick up some guide trips (as long as you have proper licensing and insurance). This could be a stepping stone to full-time year round work for the right person. The shop is under new ownership and we are expanding our e-commerce operations and looking to grow the shop in new directions. Forward-looking and tech savvy individuals will have potential opportunities to grow with us and help lead the shop into the future.

These trips are 4 day, 5 night excursions that require guiding and rowing experience, serious work ethic, and the ability to work well with a team. A season will include six or seven trips. When Smith River season is over there is a chance to guide other rivers in the area with us for the remainder of the season, through September. Responsibilities • Guide clients on fly fishing techniques and safety protocols while navigating the Smith River. • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all participants. • Communicate effectively with clients, offering instruction and support throughout the fishing trip. • Manage time efficiently to maximize fishing opportunities and maintain a smooth schedule. • Demonstrate rowing skills to maneuver the boat safely and effectively in various water conditions. If your ideal day is running shuttles, launching drift boats, loading rafts, talking fishing flies and techniques with customers and fly fishing when you’re not working, you may be a good fit. CrossCurrents Fly Shop has been around since 1994 in Helena and in Craig since 2001. We work hard to provide our customers with exceptional service and the best river knowledge while endeavoring to be the friendliest fly shop in Craig. Our shop is open 12-14 hours a day, 7-days a week from late March-October. We hire individuals who are passionate and knowledgable about fly fishing and work well in a team-oriented environment. We require employees to have outgoing personalities, to possess a strong work ethic, are honest, dependable, self-motivated, and pay utmost attention to detail to their work, taking pride in everything that they do. We are a team here at CCFS, so helping each other whenever possible, is a must. We offer the only Guide Apprentice Program on the Missouri and Blackfoot Rivers. It’s a 3 year commitment (2 in the shop, 1 split shop/guiding) but once completed, you will be very well trained as a professional Guide with the respect of many of the top Guides and Outfitters in the region. Most of the best Guides on the Missouri River have gone trough our program and have the most repeat customer requests filling up their calendars every year! This program allows you to get paid as you learn, train and do, as opposed to paying thousands for a Guide School. (However, we highly respect and recommend attending a Guide School as well. In fact, many of our Guide Apprentices have come to CCFS after attending a Guide School.). Ask Chris or Ben about this program and we can even refer you to some of the now, full-time Guides that are CCFS alumni.
