Job Description
Fat Bear Lodge is seeking a fly fishing and bear viewing guide for the 2026 season. Our lodge is situated right on the Naknek River with daily trips to Brooks Camp via water taxi.
As a guide at Fat Bear Lodge, you will provide expert guidance to guests seeking a world-class fishing experience on Alaska’s Naknek River, as well as areas of Katmai National Park and Becharof National Wildlife Refuge. You will lead guests via skiff, Flycraft, UTV, and flyouts to various locations nearby for boat fishing, floats and walk & wade fly fishing, as well as bear viewing trips to locations including Brooks Falls.
Your role will be to ensure guests have a safe, enjoyable and successful adventure. Daily assignments will be made by the head guide. The ideal candidate will be an angler experienced in both motorized boating and rowing, with the patience and desire to teach others and provide exceptional hospitality.
This is a seasonal position with housing at the lodge and incentives for completing the season.
An OUPV/6-pack license is required for guides on the Naknek River, so certification is strongly preferred for this position.
